avsa9920This new multicultural project from Jordi Savall and his musicians on The Routes of Slavery, 1444 to 1888 (the year of the abolition of slavery in Brazil) celebrates music as a form of resistance to colonisers; of freedom and of survival by preserving the original culture. It also provides a meeting between European and indigenous music, between colonisers and the colonised, creating a revealing palette of musical miscegenation.
