October 21st Classical Releases

Built around Duruflé’s Requiem, this timely programme explores music as a source of solace to those left behind and as a tribute to those who fell in terrible circumstances, taking into account conflicts across the ages, from Thomas Tomkins ‘When David Heard That Absalom was Slain’ to a new arrangement of ‘Abide with Me’. Graham Ross’s conducting skills and talent for curating innovative and informed programmes has taken the choir at Clare from strength to strength:hmu907654 hmc902230_31Il Giardino Armonico, founded in 1985 and conducted by Giovanni Antonini have long been established as one of the world’s leading period instrument ensembles, bringing together musicians from some of Europe’s leading music institutions.
